This game embarked on a whole new story line that would continue onto the Playstation. This is a great game and at the time it was released it was very popular. The music is great and the graphics... superb.  This is the first game that allowed Megaman, now referred to as X, to upgrade his gear. There are upgrades for the helmet, chest armor, leg armor, and Mega Buster, which is now referred to as the X-buster. The story takes place far in the 21 century when Reploids (robots that can feel and think), led by the evil Sigma, begin turning on humans. It is up to X and the cool new maverick hunter, Zero, to put an end to the fighting. The game is not very difficult until you reach the final stages of the game. And the final boss, Sigma is no cakewalk.

If you collect all upgrades, sub tanks, turbo hearts, defeat maverick bosses, and go through Armored Armadillo's stage and collect the energy capsule on the top of the wall right before you beat the level, on your fifth trip you will find another upgrade capsule. This secret capsule gives X the power to shoot a Hadouken just like Ryu and Ken from the popular Street Fighter video game (notice in the picture above that Dr. Light is clad in Street Fighter ensemble!). The Hadouken does 32 points of damage, which is enough to destroy any boss in the game except for the final form of the last boss, Sigma.
